In podcast number 10 - a case of mistaken identity.
Welcome to the 10th Slinky podcast and the last one in the current series, we are taking a short break, just so we have time to sort out a few guests for season 2.... but we will be back!
On this week's episode, Lucy and I went to London for our godmother's wedding. Whilst we were there we decided to explore some bits of London that we'd not been to before, including a trip to Ye Olde Cocke Tavern.
I'd wanted to go here for ages, for lots of reasons. It was a favourite watering hole of Charles Dickens, he'd always have a Cinzano and Lemonade and a bag of Nobby's Nuts when he went in (allegedly), it's next door to the Temple Church which featured in "The Da Vinci Code" and it has the narrowest front of any pub in London.
It also features in my book "Stanley Thomas is a Very Bad Man". It's the pub where Pearl Dorrell first meets Tony Richardson, so it was quite exciting for me to visit.
The staff were really lovely too and the food was great, so I highly recommend going, if you're on Fleet Street in London.
Whilst we were there, we stayed at the St Pancras Hotel, we've stayed there a couple of times before and we love it. When we got there, we knew we were checking in a bit early, but the receptionist said our room was not only ready, but they'd upgraded us! Result!
He then asked why we were staying and we explained that it was for our godmother's wedding and it was then that the confusion occurred - all will become clear when you listen to the podcast!

As part of my 50 Things to Do Before I'm 50, I arranged to go on a ghost hunt with my friend Jen to Dudley Castle. We are both huge fans of "Help My House is Haunted" and we love Barri Ghai so we booked one of his events. It finally happened on Saturday!
And there's a new rule at Trinder Towers, one we think everyone should adopt.
So..... pour yourself a glass of Malbec, make yourself a brew, stick a teaspoon in a jar of Nutella and enjoy.
